This fully encapsulated assembly comprises 8 individual cells, which together
produce an output of 3V at 100mA max. The surface of the cell is covered with
lenses to accentuate the power of the light rays hitting the surface of the
cells themselves. Fitted to the back is a 1.8 metre long connection lead,
terminated with crocodile clips and a Walkman style DC power plug. At the
bottom edge there is a hinged stand so that the device can be arranged to
point towards the light source. It can be used to provide the power for low
current circuits or the trickle charge for A and AAA Ni-Cad batteries. This
cell performs very well under a 100W bulb, driving all the solar motors.
