The model is designed for teacher demonstration of the vibration of atoms
within a solid. The model should be held at arms length and vibrated
sufficiently to show the independent movement of the atoms. We do not
recommend its use by children since the model has a specific scientific
purpose and is not a plaything. Do not attempt to separate the atom-parts from
the springs. Correct assembly is not easy and requires a special procedure to
avoid twisting the springs. Kit is supplied unassembled and contains 27 white
6-hole ball atom parts and 54 metal springs.
